CHART NOTES:
This aid will keep track of critical events that have occurred and help avoid arguments.  It can often be difficult to remember if a card was played or for what purpose it was played.  Listed above are the critical card events that require prerequisites for play.  Certain cards require that an event has or has not yet been played.  All critical events worth tracking are on the left side of the player aid and marked with a box.  Simply check off the box (or mark with a chit or token) when the card with that event has been played for its given purpose.

In BCOF there are certain cards that are contingent upon other cards played previously.  For ex., "New York Draft Riots" may not be played by the Confederate player unless the Union player has first played a "Conscription" card.  Or a card may sometimes may be played only after a game event.  Ex.  The Union player may not play "Tennessee Lost" unless he has first won a Major Victory in the West.

For someone new to BCOF it may be of help to keep track of such cards during gameplay.  Walt's "Card Tracking Chart" and Brad's "Memory Cards" are designed to do just that.  Take your pick--you'll find them both quite useful while you are learning the cards.
For those who like to chart the war as it unfolds, as I did on all my playtest games, Brad has provided just the right player aid above.
